For the Black Entrepreneurship Alliance (BEA)’s Element Centre, we conducted a feasibility study to support the creation of an innovation hub for underserved communities in Northwestern Toronto. This involved examining governance, programming, site selection, and operational models, while integrating insights from policy reviews, case studies, literature, surveys, and interviews to provide a holistic understanding of community needs and opportunities.
Our feasibility study services provide in-depth analyses to evaluate and guide the development of innovative, community-focused initiatives. By combining rigorous research, stakeholder engagement, and comprehensive reviews of policy, demographics, partnerships, and community input, we deliver actionable frameworks tailored to each project’s unique needs.
Entrepreneurs from marginalized backgrounds are held back by the state of affordable housing. Building off the Element Centre feasibility study, our research for the BEA explores the experiences of affected individuals and what housing supports are needed to attract the diversity in talent needed for a future-proof innovation ecosystem.

Our needs assessment services provide comprehensive evaluations of housing and community infrastructure, offering actionable roadmaps for development. We collaborate with organizations to analyze current conditions, identify critical gaps, and recommend strategies tailored to unique contexts. Through comprehensive literature reviews, stakeholder engagement, and targeted analysis, our reports outline baseline needs of target communities and prioritize actionable steps. By addressing deficiencies in housing stock, public spaces, and essential amenities, we create roadmaps for community-driven, sustainable development, integrating models like CLTs and housing-entrepreneurship initiatives to foster long-term growth and resilience.
We worked with Advancing African Community Development Association (AACDA) to identify the initial focus location within the African Canadian community where AACDA can establish itself, the first support services to implement, and documentation on potential partners, grants, and opportunities for future progress.

Our strategic planning services support organizations at the earliest stages of ideation, helping them assess next steps and navigate the path from concept to execution. We work closely with community-based initiatives to understand their goals, challenges, and resources, providing tailored strategies that align with their unique vision and context. Through stakeholder engagement, community input, and a review of existing conditions, we identify key opportunities and areas of focus. Our plans offer actionable steps, policy guidance, and partnership recommendations to ensure sustainable growth and long-term community impact.
As part of TorontoTech Fest 2024, Untitled Planning and the BEA presented the findings of the Element Centre feasibility study, helping the local community and potential partners/participants to gain a deeper understanding of how innovation infrastructure can drive resilience in marginalized communities.
How can Community Land Trusts (CLTs) build on the foundations of history and collective power, provide reparative justice to Black communities? We worked with the Canadian Network of Community Land Trusts (CNCLT) to develop a limited podcast series highlighting insights from B3 (Black-led, Black-serving, Black-focused) CLTs across Canada and the USA.
